Publication Ethic

Journal of Judicial Studies (JJS) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal. This statement clarifies the ethical behaviour expected of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, editorial board members, reviewers, and the publisher.

This publication ethics statement is based on the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of articles in a peer-reviewed journal such as the Journal of Judicial Studies (JJS) is an essential component of developing a reliable and respected body of legal knowledge. Published articles reflect the quality of the authors' research and the integrity of the institutions supporting them.

Peer-reviewed publications uphold scholarly standards and contribute to the advancement of research on judicial institutions, court practices, and the application of positive law through judicial processes.

Therefore, all parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher are expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards.

The Faculty of Sharia and Law, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, as the publisher of JJS, takes its responsibilities in overseeing all stages of the publication process seriously. The publisher is committed to ensuring that commercial considerations, advertising, or other external interests do not influence editorial decisions. The editorial board will also cooperate with other journals and publishers when necessary to ensure ethical publication practices.
