About the Journal
Journal of Judicial Studies (JJS) is a peer-reviewed scholarly law journal published biannually by the Faculty of Sharia and Law, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, Indonesia. The journal is dedicated to the study of judicial institutions, court practices, and judicial decision-making within the framework of positive law.
JJS serves as an academic platform for the dissemination of original research articles, conceptual analyses, and empirical studies that examine the roles of courts and judges in interpreting, applying, and enforcing law. The journal places particular emphasis on judicial reasoning, procedural law, case law analysis, judicial governance, and the protection of rights through judicial processes.
Designed as an international-oriented law journal, JJS welcomes contributions from legal scholars, judges, researchers, and practitioners that critically explore judicial practices in Indonesia and comparative jurisdictions. By focusing on law as applied through courts, the journal aims to contribute to the development of judicial accountability, legal certainty, access to justice, and the advancement of positive law in contemporary legal systems.
